Delay of start date:
Soccer club start date has moved from September 20th to October 4th. This time is needed to get volunteer background checks completed so that more students can participate. .
More Volunteers Needed to avoid participation cap:
District regulations state that the program needs a 10:1 ratio of students to helpers. Due to overwhelming participation numbers, over 200 kids signed up, we are in need of additional volunteers.
We currently have 2 “coaches” and 2 assistance coaches. We also have 4-5 additional volunteers, currently in the background check process, signed up to help.
Per district regulations this currently limits us to 40 participants, or up to 90 if all scheduled volunteers pass their background checks. If additional volunteers are not found quickly, we will do a random drawing to determine which students will get placement in session 1.
Students who registered for session 1 that are not selected in the random draw will get first placement in session 2 that starts in April.
We apologize for this last minute change, the program was vastly more popular than anticipated. If we get more volunteers, especially those that already passed background checks with the district, we can allow more or all of the students that registered to participate.
Thank you for your understanding, the safety of your students is our number one concern and we need to make sure the adult to student ratio is adequate for the program to succeed.
